Rich environment to motivate our students

Dear colleagues,
What happens all around us today is so provoking to think, analyse, speak and write down how we feel towards these fast changing phases in our political life. Everyday we have something new in the terms that it makes mute people speak and shy ones raise their voices expressing their own perspectives on the current events around them. Our political life is teeming with strange and astounding events that pushes us to speak in a loud voice. I find myself obliged to share my students their desire to talk and there are always heated discussions. I discovered new abilities in some students who were not accustomed to participate in other discussions. This pushed me to think why didn't they share in other discussions and I have deduced that the problem is in the topics we choose every time. We need to choose things that interest them and appeal to their taste. We need to help them voice their opinions about the current issues.Through this we can learn how they think and how they see the something we see but in a different way.

Once more my dear colleague, we need to organize our work, prepare it well, provide our student with rich topics to motivate them to talk and write jot down their opinions. I think this help them build their way of thinking and supports healthy atmosphere for discussion.

suggestions

Dear colleagues,
We have gone through different learning experiences through our course 504. I think that we need to apply everything in our classes to create motivation for our students and to overcome that sort of monotony that most of us suffer from.

Applying the presentation strategy in our classes helps students sum up what have been learnt and reflect on their learning outcome. What we presented in the last session was fun and of great benefits.
1- It showed that we learnt a lot throughout our course.
2- It has proved that persistence  leads to fulfillment.
3- Creating interactive environment in our classes can be easily done.
4- Brains need refreshment through some easy practices.
5- CBL can be used to serve the community and students' learning as well.
6- Flexibility is a learning key; whenever we have an assignment, we are motivated  to do it and those lagging behind are excused and a new time limit is always given.
7- Lessons should include unexpected activities that positively change students' learning mode.

In fact I'm much obliged to our marvelous professor who inspired us with that amount of motivation.

WHY DON'T WE RE PLAN OUR CURRICULUM AND APPLY CB LS WITHIN THEM AND TEACH OUR STUDENTS HAVE PRESENTATION EVERY WEEK.

WE SHOULD PASS WHAT WE LEARN TO OUR STUDENTS TO MAKE A CHANGE IN THEIR LIVES.

How amazing

Dear colleagues,
I'm so impressed with what I have seen and what I have learnt  and the strange feeling that overwhelmed me. I want to thank you so much for brainstorming and inspiring me. I want to thank the creative person that aroused our curiosity, planted motivation deep inside both our minds and our hearts.

The last session was like an exhibition that reflected everyone's work and our master's professionalism in achieving the goal of the course. Each Power Point presentation  created an "aha" moment within me. We can use power point presentations within our classes. They reflect one's understanding and sums up what have been learning in an interesting way.

I have decided to use power point presentations in my classes especially that our master technology uses more than we do. I cant comment on all the presentations, but they were all amazing.

wrapping up adolescents'motivation

The last session was summing up what had been covered in the course. A lot of us have already added different things that help teachers overcome many problems during their classes. The most wonderful thing is that their should be mutual understanding between the teacher and his students. This sort of understanding builds strong bridges over which the learning communities can be strongly built. That mutual understanding help solve ant probable problems and pushes students forward learning to meet the teacher's expectations from his students. Another thing is that we should be aware when students are burnt out.

I have learnt a lot from that session. I'm going to strengthen mutual understanding between me and my students. I'm going to change mt teaching style to avoid getting them burnt out, and if it happens I will try "brain gym" just to refresh them and renew their energy creating a healthy learning environment.

What communities give us

Last week’s session was an inspiring one as it has made us a brainstorming through which each one of us exposed their ideas about community-based learning projects and how we can affect the community we live in; how we can make a change in other people’s lives.
The “aha” moment that our discussion resulted in was when the following sentence was raised” What can the community do for me and not only what can I do for the community?” Of course the environment where we live affects us greatly both negatively and positively. So we need to be aware of that impact on us. I think that every community has a lot of defects that affect people’s way of thinking and their everyday life. But we shouldn’t be passive; we as educators have to be anxious about the community and the future generations. We have to be positive and to shed lights on the problems we have and arouse our students’ interest and inquiry approach and provide a healthy environment for discussion and research.

I have made up my mind to follow community-based learning project in teaching. I will start with the problem in my classes. I will train my students on doing research, collecting data, organizing their information, suggesting solutions, studying why those solution will work and why others won’t. I will clarify that problems are everywhere and they will disturb our life if we don’t take the necessary measures.

Community-based Learning projects

Community based learning projects are a new approach in teaching. They maximize the role of the school and give it a valuable role that it plays in the community as a whole. This approach shows that schools affect and are affected by the surrounding community. Teachers have a great role in guiding and monitoring their students while carrying out a CBL. Later on they will be trained to do CBLs on their own.
What I have noticed and caused the “aha” moment for me is that CBLs need a lot of preparation and co-operation much patience especially when it is a new approach for the learning community.
I have decided to discuss this new approach with my colleagues and try to clarify the impact of the CBLs on teachers, students and the community as well. CBLs help students build positive interaction, create mutual understanding, raise students’ feeling of responsibility towards their community, train them for problem-solving approach in the future, voice their feelings and opinions, push them forward to be leader and self-dependent. In fact CBLs’ benefits are countless. I can carry more than one CBL at the same time because there is great flexibility in forming the CBL group.

Educational video

Never stop learning. Learning is an ongoing process, so you have to be updated because there are many things you don't know when you learn something.
