Our kids are our futureOur kids are our future

Our kids are our future. One day we will have to sit back and leave the lead to them. So we have to think over the way we teach them or the way we build up their characters. We have to bear in mind that we learn from each other and that co-operation makes learning better and easier. The "aha" moment that I came across was  the group work that we practiced in our session and the wonderful ways that these groups can be formed upon. Besides fun, group work provides a chance for shy students to share their knowledge with their classmates in a safe atmosphere. It creates mutual understanding and respect among group members and foster democracy while performing a certain task. It also helps them work to certain rules followed in the class.
I think that I can apply active and collaborative learning in all my classes no mater which grade I'm teaching.   I have to bear in my mind that my students are my future leaders and decide what kind of leaders I need for the future; democratic, flexible, cooperative, courageous, caring, thoughtful etc. I have to work hard to help my students be those leaders. I have decided to apply group work in my classes to achieve my goal.

  1. Mohamed, congratulations on getting your blogs up and going. There are still many adults who don't understand that one day the children shall lead us and that is simply the way of the world. One of my uncles, who was a teacher for over 40 years, once told me that we need to recognise that in our classes, there will be students who are smarter, brighter and who will reach further in life than we have. Our job as teachers is to guide them with love and care into that unknown future. All the best!
